Pumpkin Spice and Chia Seed Smoothie Print Recipe Print Recipe

Yep, it’s October.

So I’m going to throw pumpkin and halloween at you all at once. I’m sorry, but you’re welcome.

I’m really not much of a sweets person. I’d rather indulge in a hearty dinner or bowl of popcorn than a sack of candy. Okay, except for M&M’s and junior mints. I can’t pass those up.

Since we all know there will be no avoiding the candy bowl, at least I’ll have something healthy, which will hopefully limit going back for thirds.

This is the most excited I’ve ever been for Halloween. A holiday meant for kids and now I finally have one! I mean, how cute is this? Still unsure what I’ll be dressing mr. mace up as, but I do know what will be served.

These pumpkin spice chia seeds smoothies are the perfect before the sugar rush hits. Kid or adult. Why not fill em’ up with something healthy and nutritious, but also seasonal. It’s great for breakfast or an afternoon treat. Plus the touch of decor

Then for the touch of Halloween, I wrapped the glasses in white spider web and then added a fake spider. Then for the table, I wrapped it with black web with more fake spiders. You get the theme here.

Let the countdown begin!

Tip – you can also swap out the yogurt for vanilla ice cream and it’s a relatively healthy dessert smoothie!

Do you know how it would be if you left the yogurt out all together? Also, how about coconut milk instead of rice? That’s usually what I have on hand. Happy Halloween!! I have two little boys (3 and 1 y.o.) and it’s so much fun!

  • WithStyleGrace

Yes, you can definitely leave the yogurt out or even swap it for something else, such as another yogurt or even ice cream. And yes, feel free to use whatever type of milk that you prefer. Happy (early) Halloween to you and your boys!

Yum! I’ve been eyeing the chia seeds at Costco and always want to buy them, but I’m never sure what to do with them. I think I’ll splurge and give this smoothie a try!

What can be used as a substitute for banana? I’m allergic to them.

  • WithStyleGrace

You can just omit it entirely. The banana makes it creamy, but should still taste good without. Maybe try less milk though.

  • Lynne McCurdy

I’m allergic to bananas. I often use avocado instead. I’m also looking for other alternatives.

  • WithStyleGrace

Some smoothies, I’ve used mango instead of bananas, but that all depends on what other ingredients are being used.
