I’m thinking if I keep making [& drinking] these pretty spring and summer-y juices, it’ll be a good one. Today’s juice is fresh strawberry with coconut water. I spiced it up with a little ginger and fresh lime juice. It’s basically summer time in your mouth and you’re going to love it.
This is the type of juice I like to reward myself with after a hike or yoga class… or a 20 minute workout video. ooooor juice in the morning so I can have wine at night? It’s pretty easy to find an excuse to drink this, even if it’s a stretch.
How many of you have done juice cleanse before? I’ve done a few and they always have a nut milk that you get to drink at night. It’s like dessert. Anyways, I was determined to recreate it and when I did, I made about 6 batches in ONE WEEK. I’m obsessed. Since it’s not “juicing”, I’m saving it for Monday. Trust me, you’re not going to want to miss this.
If you’re interested in doing your own juice cleanse at home, Lacy did one on her blog, which you can check out here. Speaking of Lacy, she’s leading a health coaching course (starts next tuesday!) and HIGHLY highly recommend you check it out. I won’t be participating this time around because of a previous commitment, but she’s honestly the best coach (& partner) out there.
Did everyone enjoy juice week? Any favorites so far?
I’ve heard from some people that the cleanup is almost enough to keep them from juicing. I hear ya. We had an inexpensive juicer and I HATED cleaning it. Then when we started using my mom’s Breville, the cleanup is much easier. We compost the waste, clean off the big pieces and actually put all the machine parts straight into the dishwater. Done. It really makes juicing much more enjoyable.
Juice Week Recap –
- Day 1: Lean & Green
- Day 2: Beet Happy
- Day 3: Pineapple & Cucumber Refresher
- Day 4: Fresh Strawberry Juice
Hope I was able to give you a little inspiration and some refreshing juice recipes.
Have a fabulous weekend!
Strawberry, Pear + Coconut Water
- 3 cups fresh organic strawberries, stems removed
- 1 organic pear, cored and seeded
- 1/4 fresh lime
- small piece of ginger
- 1/2 cup coconut water
Wash all your ingredients really well.
Turn on the juicer.
Add strawberries, pear, lime and ginger. Turn the juicer off and mix in the coconut water with the juice. Pour the fresh juice into a glass and enjoy!
note: If there’s too much pulp, strain through a sieve or other strainer one to two times to reduce the pulp.
Fresh juice is best consumed immediately after juicing and would recommend not going more than 3 days.
note: I usually don’t peel or skin the fruit or citrus if it’s organic. If it’s not organic, I’ll peel or wash really well.
