I’m picky about my trail mix.
Well, I’ve been picky about a lot of things lately, this being one of them. Now that I’ve already started packing our hospital bag – pinch me, SERIOUSLY – the one thing I knew I wanted was a dang good mix.
I thought about my favorite dried fruits, nuts [if unsalted, I add my own salt] and then simply combined them. Perfect combination of salty and sweet. Thank you Trader Joe’s for selling all my favorites, you make me so happy.
I filled a ziplock with this mix and already stashed in my hospital bag. Then made enough for the airtight container that sits on our counter for everyone to enjoy.
TIP: If you don’t like some [or any] of the ingredients I’ve listed, just replace with your favorites.

Homemade AWESOME Trail Mix
- 1/2 cup dried strawberries
- 1/2 cup dried cherries
- 1/2 cup tropical mix – dried blueberries, mango & pineapple
- 3/4 cup almonds
- 1/2 cup peanuts
- 1/2 cup pistachios
- Optional – chocolate covered raisins
Mix all the ingredients are store in an airtight container.
Note: If you don’t like one of of the ingredients, swap out for your favorite(s).
