Healthy Mint Chip Milkshake Print Recipe Print Recipe

I can’t stop.  I just can’t.

Recently, it’s this and a side of fries. It’s the only thing that doesn’t give me heartburn.

Since I don’t need help in the calorie department these days, I’m making my own [lower calorie] shakes when possible. They seem to do the trick just fine!

Before my verrrrry different pregnancy appetite,  I can’t tell you the last time I had a milkshake.

I have a limited selection of foods I’ll actually eat, vegetables not being one of them.  With my craving for milkshakes, I thought I’d do my best to make it a bit more healthier, at least compared to the fast food options. I’ve only found one fast food chain, Burgerville which has the option of non-fat frozen yogurt instead of ice cream – less calories and fat. I don’t need help in that department.

Although I can handle dairy these days, I made this with coconut ice cream [non-dairy] and almond milk. If you can’t find this particular ice cream, try a vanilla no sugar added or a non fat and add a few chocolate chips.

Too much fat in dairy products usually make me sick, so I LOVE the So Delicious ice cream products! I’ve never had this flavor though… obviously that needs to change.

The shake looks PERFECT for summer, pregnancy or no! That’s no good about the heartburn — have you tried drinking aloe vera juice?

I love hearing about your pregnancy cravings, Lisa! I’m not a big ice cream person but this sounds super!

I think this would be great to mix 1 frozen banana with 1 c of the ice cream (few less calories) and finish off same way recipe reads. One you get the mint extract in there you won’t have much banana taste. Think I’ll try this soon as I can get the ice cream.
