[Baked] Cinnamon Spiced Apple Chips
Print Recipe
I ate these in less time than it took to bake.
I would have eaten made, but I ran out of apples. Which is whyyyyy I’m on attempt #2 at convincing my husband to go apple picking with me. Today. I’ve never been, but sounds like the perfect thing to do on a Wednesday.
I wish we could say we’re being spontaneous and playing hooky. Yeah, no. He works in hotel business and has different off days than normal people. It’s cool.
Now, grab those apples and get baking, these are way too good to miss out on! No excuses needed.
Psst. . . Big announcement coming on Monday!
[Baked] Apple Cinnamon Spice Chips
Ingredients
- 2 large red apples
- 2 teaspoons of cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
- Optional: 1 teaspoon sugar
Directions
Preheat oven to 200 F. Cover baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside.
With a mandoline or a knife, thinly slice the apples crosswise about 1/8-inch thick. Again, with the knife or a cookie cutter [my choice], cut out the seeds.
In a shallow dish, combine sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar [optional]. Add the apples and toss in the spice mixture until coated.
Arrange the apple slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake 1 1/2 – 2 hours, or until the apples are dry and crispy. Remove from oven and let cool.
Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container, about 2-3 days.
