Gluten-Free Appetizer Plate
Print Recipe

I usually don’t touch a plate that looks like this. A slice of dairy on a piece of gluten and a handful of raw nuts isn’t all that comforting on an empty stomach. No thank you. However, if it’s up to me, no one’s going home hungry. Here’s what’s on my plate…
- Sheep Cheese (my favorite) or Goat cheese – the only two cheeses that I can tolerate. Note: NOT dairy-free
- Gluten-free crackers
- Sprouted Almonds – easier to digest
- Fruit, such as apple slices – apple & cheese is a great combination
This plate saves me when I need a quick fix for guests (especially those with allergies) and also when my blood sugar crashes. You can bet this plate will appear more than once over the next few days. My fabulous in-laws and sister in-law are visiting (from Seattle) until Sunday and while I’m learning how to juggle a very full (spilling over) plate & a new job, I find some of the greatest conversations and moments happen around food, even if it’s a simple plate of cheese and crackers.
Gluten-free | Dairy Sensitive | Healthy

Don’t be fooled, these aren’t your average almonds. These are sprouted, which means their sweeter, softer and easier to digest. I’ve only been able to find them in the bulk section at Whole Foods, but let me warn you, they’re pricey.

In one hand it’s a glass of sparkling water with lime and the other it’s a full glass of wine (or champagne) – both stocked in my fridge.
