Pear Galette or “pie on a baking sheet”
Print Recipe

I was a guest over at Eat Drink Pretty, where the lovely Jenna featured this (amazingly delicious) pear galette.
I do believe that if I lived closer to Jenna (or vice versa), we’d be trouble – at least that’s what our husband’s would say. Between all the baking, cooking, entertaining and of course bottles champagne we’d go through, we’d most likely prove our husband’s to be right. And no, I’m not that creepy, we’ve actually met and between email, facebook & twitter, we “talk” every few weeks. I just love her. You would too.
Of course, there’s a story to this post.
For Christmas, my sister in-law, miss Emily surprised me with a cookbook. We all know I read cookbooks like a romance novel – read every line and can’t. put. it. down. Well, this wasn’t just any cookbook. Her husband, Nate – his aunt (who we love) passed away over Thanksgiving and when they were going through her things, Em grabbed this cookbook. Needless to say, I was so touched, I cried when I saw this note:

This pear galette recipe was adapted from here, which is referred to as ” pear pie on a baking sheet”. That’s Cute.
note: I kept the peel on for more of an unrefined look, but please feel free to peel your pears before hand
also note: this can be super duper easy if you use a pre made pie crust. It’s ok, I wont tell.
